I offer freelance editing services focusing on editorial assessments, developmental edits and line edits.
Manuscript Consult:
First Chapter
A great affordable option, ideal for giving your manuscript a “check-up” before moving forward. There will be a substantive critique with in-line comments on the first chapter of your manuscript. Edits will address any big-picture problems as well as a line edit to fine-tune your wonderful work!​

Editorial Assessment
This is the first overview of your completed manuscript.
I will offer some broad, insightful feedback on major strengths and weaknesses in plot, characters, consistency, style, and structure.
You will receive a 1-page editorial letter of suggestions on how to fix your work.

Developmental Edit
Detailed feedback on:
- Big-picture issues
- Story structure
- Plot

- Character development
- Voice
You’ll receive a multi-page (generally between 5-20), in-depth editorial letter full of suggestions and how you can approach fixing things.
You will also get a marked up manuscript and a 1-hour follow-up call to discuss and brainstorm whatever you need!

Line Edit
This is where we fine-tune and look for anything that makes your manuscript less readable.

This includes:
- Word repetition
- Spelling
- Grammar
- Capitalization
- Word usage
- Dialogue tags
- Usage of numbers or numerals
- Point of views
- Tense
- Descriptive inconsistencies in character descriptions, locations, blocking, etc.

Half of the fee is due upfront. Half is due upon project completion. Payment plans are available.
